Introducing LynxPoker: poker tournament software for clubs

Running a poker tournament should be exciting, not stressful. Yet for years, tournament directors have been stuck choosing between desktop software that lives on one computer, platforms built for casinos, or a mix of spreadsheets and timer apps. We built LynxPoker to change that.

The problem we saw

We've spent years in poker tournaments, as players and as friends of the directors who run them. The same pain points kept coming up at every level, from a weekly club tournament to a multi-day festival with hundreds of players.

• Timer apps handle the clock but nothing else. No player tracking, no dealer coordination, no multi-device sync.
• Desktop software needs an install, stays on one computer, and leaves the floor staff without a screen of their own.
• The "spreadsheet approach" works until it doesn't. One wrong formula and your prize pool calculations are off.

We wanted a platform that a club director and a festival director could both love: professional enough for the big stage, simple enough to set up in minutes.

What has shipped since

When we wrote this post, a few of these were plans. They are all in the product now, on every plan:

• The free LynxPoker players app on iOS and Android. Players find tournaments near them, watch your live clock, follow chip counts and standings, and register from their phone.
• Leagues. Every tournament's points add up into live season standings, and you can export them as a CSV.
• Reports. Print the full tournament report, with totals, prizes and entries, and see each player's history and profit and loss.
• Screens. Pick a TV, pick what it shows: the live clock, the players, the places or the mystery bounty draw.
• A wall clock that keeps counting through a Wi-Fi drop, even into the next level.
• Roster import. Bring your players and dealers in from a spreadsheet saved as CSV.
